Default Tire warmer prep?

Well about to make the jump and get some tire warmers for the winter season. I have question about tire prep. Do you sauce tires before or after you use the warmers? If after wont the tires cool off before the tires can get a proper soak?

Thanks for the help

My usual routine with a "thick" outdoor additive is to apply the additive, wrap the tyre in paper, warm for 30mins at 50C; then wipe the additive off 5 minutes before the run; before putting the warmers back on to keep the heat in the tyre.

First step gets the additive to penetrate the tyre, second step gets the tyre closer to operating temperature for the race.

With thin additives that evaporate away, I don't use them. Maybe the second step if conditions are really cold and the tyres just don't get any grip off the line.

But there are many other ways that people use them.

Thanks. Really looking for indoor prep. Also I like the look if the "can" type over the "wrap" type. Just looks cleaner. Does anyone know the diameter of these and if they fit VTA tires?

Most people don't use warmers indoors so you may have trouble finding advice.
