Yep.

Any of them, now with a gear diff too. All depends on grip level.
To add something. we went open gear when the A12 and new X-Ray came out. The fixed gear we were running didn't fit and slight variations in the motors showed up that could be solved with a gear change. That kept racers from buying motors to get the perfect one. Just find the gear sweet spot for the one you have.
We started 56/72 and that is a good ratio for that motor to be very safe. But that doesn't fit on a A12.

Was looking to see if that is the smallest spur gear that will work with diff balls.

Fixed gearing can be a specific pinion/spur combo but as old_dude noted, you could have some variation from one car to another. You can try a particular ratio and then everyone can get there with the gears that work for their car.

Like Tony Screws said… the motors are locked at 30deg.

We just got tired of racing with out lifting on the throttle (usgt motor)Plus the wacky gearing
Not very exciting. plus it comes down to batteries.
Rubber tires all the fast guys are skimming them every run. So it’s the same versus foam. Traction and door to door racing is so much better with foams

Is gearing closer to 17.5 LMP?

100 ish. roll out

biz77 01-23-2024 01:07 PM

Do you run 17.5 striped tire LMP there as well? What's the lap time difference?

The only other 12th scale class they run at 180 Raceway is open 13.5 LMP with open tire.

racenut123 01-25-2024 07:42 PM

Hey! Was wonder what a good starting gearing/rollout for 21.5 open motor?

100mm rollout would get you started.

deleted. sorry.

hunterdawg 02-10-2024 11:53 AM

I have a set from October that I found in the bottom of a box that has that same marking.

DirkW 02-10-2024 12:01 PM

What type of tire is that?

I contacted Scott Jakes and he said this is normal, from the injection mold, and has been in every tire for two years. So clearly I am being too fussy about wanting better quality for my $35. I don’t remember these divots being that pronounced in any previous sets I have purchased. The set I returned to the hobby shop were much deeper than this set. Thoughts?

The set I showed you last week were 2.0s. So this has been going on a while.

Then this is the wrong thread. This here is the foam tire thread. Note the missing "RT" for Rubber Tire in the thread title.

Skim them on the machine - problem solved.

BullFrog 02-10-2024 03:53 PM

This is funny. Everytime I get on their thread I get the riot act. They come on the foam thread and complain about their rubber tires. Simple solution go to FOAM tires- problem solved!

Difference is you do it intentionally.

What is the current best GT12 asphalt/tarmac body? Lots of downforce and steering I would imagine to be the ideal parameters. If not please educate me, I am a former racer returning after years wondering lost in the woods of other pursuits.

BullFrog 03-18-2024 05:23 PM

Hi Adrian There are several bodys The 720, ARES-1, Akura, Super Rad (this body fits the awesomatix A12). Glad to see you back. Any Motor-striped tires and open gearing. What Chassis are you going to get. the new Exalt stuff is very good!!!!!
