can that lamp operate in 110/220 volts? also can it run on batteries?
if not is there a similar lamp that can run on batteries?

Count me in the "Tensor is awesome" crowd. I picked on up on the cheap, and liked it so much I went back and bought a second one for my desk. Haven't regretted it for a second. I'm tempted to get another for my pit so I can use two for general lighting, and grab one of them to move around if I need more light in a particular spot.
Also, a can of Paragon fits perfectly into the light when it's open, keeping it out of the way while you're racing.

Went to ACO a couple years ago and bought a Westinghouse badged ott clone for $9.95. Bought a couple. I broke a bulb in one (dropped it) and found it wasn't even worth buying the bulb. Just went and bought a new lamp.

I'm gonna install a really strong magnet into the base of mine just to make sure that the can doesn't go anywhere... I like to move my light around. I have also been thinking of replacing mine with a newer model, my Tensor version seems to have gotton a little warm at one time, the upper shade is a little warped.
