Default Stick Radio Options

Is the Vantage by KO the only choice for RC car operation?
I really like the JR radios but they are for air use.
Could you use one of them for land use or do they run on different frequencies?
or could you open one up and rig a Spektrum system to one of those 4 to 6 channel stick radios?
I only ask because I would like to get a stick radio for future air use, but would like to use it for land in the meantime? Is that even possible?

Do a search. There was a big discussion on that same topic a few months ago.

air plane radios i believe run on 72 mhz. If you dont want a KO, futaba, and airtronics both sell one. The airtronics one can use the spectrum module for the M8 or the m11(check the web site ) Hitec just came out with a new stick radio, and it is reviewed in the September 2005 issue of radio race car international

The Hitec radio is the Eclipse Pro.

And ChadCapece: Not to make this a problem, but please take a loot at all the "Which is better" How fast does do cars go, what can i do to make my tc3 work better, how can i fix my tao4....etc. There are threads for most of the cars out there, so if you are gonna say something here, please go and say the same to all the threads that already have a different thread dedicated specificaly to the car.
