I had a chance this weekend to race and see a comparison among a few different motors. In 1/12 17.5 I ran a Team Scream Racing motor against a few Trinity D4's, a Team Powers, a few Trinity Killshots, a Thunder Power and a couple others. Speed they all seemed very similar, myself and one of the guys running a D4 had fast lap. My motor faded less at the end of the race. I am impressed with the Team Scream motor and very happy to be running it.

Whatever EA Motorsports has will be good (probably better than most), either the D4 or the Orca. You didn't say what type of car you're putting it in.

Been running a stock 17.5 D4 in 1/12th for the past month and switched to the R1 Wurks today. WOW what a difference... The D4 was ok but just couldn't get the speed out of it. The R1 has much more torque in the infield and greater top speed. What most don't know is there are several versions of the D4 and prices vary.. R1 has one model and its fast out of the package!!

All that said can someone break down all the details of all the 17.5 options?? I'm confused on this 17.5 motor line up and hope someone could shead some light. Here is just 2 brands with a few listed.

Express has a "Tornado" D4 17.5
Express has a "Twister" 17.5
Trinity has a D4 17.5
Trinity has a Certified 5% D4 17.5
Trinity has a Maxzilla D4 17.5
Trinity has a Big Blue D4 17.5
Trinity has a Big Blue Certified D4 17.5
Trinity has ROAR Spec D4 17.5

I'm guiessing there are rotor size differences and wire guage thickness differences too?? I'm sure one is better for 1/12 and one better for 1/10 TC ect??

The big blue ones are not ROAR legal because they use thicker wire.

The rest of the D4 17.5 lineup is same wire gauge for the stator. The only difference is the included rotor. I'm not sure about rotor setup for 1/12 (I think most stick with 12.3mm)

But I always found Trinity motors to be underwhelming for 1/10th TC with the standard 12.3mm purple rotor. They wake up with a 12.5mm torque rotor and run cooler too. Maxzilla means it comes with a 12.5mm torque rotor.

The 5% is Trinity's batch method where the top 5 stators and rotors are used to assembly a slightly better motor than what everyone else normally gets.
