How hot are my batteries suppose to get?
Hi I charge my batteries at 5a/6a and I have 2 3700 GP zapped from japan. The ending temp is over 51 degrees c. I think this is tooo hot/ I put the delta peak v drop to .04 v?

Try .03 or even 0 delta peak if your charger has this function.

I think the higher the number e.g. .04 .05 .06 etc etc the hotter the cells will get. If i'm wrong some one please correct me on this. But what i have been told Nimh batteries don't like high Delta peak. I use .03 for cooler weather and zero delta peak for warmer weather. I also Equalise my cells on a Much More V-zero tray before i charge them.

when i use my advantage charger mine get only 40 degrees c

When charging my GP 3700's I have the delt peak set .03 and use a temp gun to determine when they are done charging. 125 - 130 degrees.

sushi, was is the conversion from 41c to what like 130 or 140 F. if so should be around 125 or 130. come see me at the track next time your there, ( i sold you the tray)

Well, that would work but I doubt the cells are fully charged. Unless you are indoors in a cool room and such.
I would keep most cells in the range of 120 to 135F. I charge my 3300's at 6amps with a .12mv cut off and they peak at about 125F in the Florida Shade. Which is still HOT!
Just takes some testing to get the settings for your area.

F = C * (9/5) + 32
So...
C = (5/9)(F-32)
125 deg. F. would be 51ish degrees Celcius. 50 isn't really all that bad. Its about 124. That's actually a little on the cool side. Most people like their batteries to peak between 130 and 140. So you're on the safe side. I wouldn't be worried.

C=5*(def F - 32)/9
C=5*(def F - 32)/9

Well, they both work out the same way. There's multiple ways to write the conversion.
