Hi,

I use axon spur and add 0.2mm spacer to stop the play. I also experience that different shimming needed for different brands. I start shimming step by step, once it become smooth I leave it. I believe correct shimming is important... car feels better. cheers

Even the kit spur gears from Tamiya have a little play. Never shimmed them but seems a good idea.

It can be also, size&widht of e-ring (clips) can be different, (bearings can make also a bit of play - they are not exactly the same “size”)...not just at pulley but on the wheel nuts. If no play and smooth running nothing else you need .
Btw - Manual also suggest what to use and when. So shim only if it is needed....0.15, 0.25 shims also available for pulley as well. Worth to have it on stock in case needed.

I usually put as much shim to overshim and step by step (0.05) go down till i find smooth running without too much play.

Is anyone here running the Techra suspension mount that accepts the inserts? I wonder if its worth spending the money on them. It seems easier to change the inserts than replacing the entire suspension mount.

Yes I have them. No it's not easier to change the inserts. It's a pain to get the inserts in and out.

Ah, thanks for the feed back.

I guess the only advantage of them would be instead of buying all the different suspension mounts, you only need to buy 4 of the Techra ones and you are set.

One thing I forgot to mention is that I use 48 pitch spurs/pinions.

Default 419XR

Any thoughts on this scenario?

419X WS kit + XR conversion, to be used on medium grip carpet - use the XR carbon chassis and top deck, or the WS alloy chassis and carbon top deck?

For those in the US that have been looking for the 419xr conversion, RC Mart now has them in stock and I just ordered mine!

Its kind of funny that with a Worldwide Release Date (20JAN2018) that the American stores still dont have them listed yet.. Big hooplah about a release date.... but....

there is something wrong with the 'system'

I guess you can technically go buy direct from Tamiya USA since its listed and available there.

In the gaming industry 20JAN2018 meant that I could stand in line at 11:55pm 19JAN2018 and have it in my hands in 5minutes..
