Default Carpet Nats Location (Wish List)

We were having a discussion the other night about tracks we'd like to see host carpet nats. I thought it would be fun to throw it out there for everybody.

Please list places you'd almost certainly travel to if they hosted the race.

Here's my list in order, let's see yours.
  1. The Gate
  2. TQ
  3. Thunder RC
  4. MRH
  5. Genesis
  6. Reflex

Interesting Topic...

1.) The Gate - 2 hour drive for me and an Excellent track!
2.) Mikes Hobby Shop (Tx) - Because Paragon. I missed out on 2012
3.) 5280 - Seems like you guys have a solid facility.

I thought the Gate already hosted the nats?

I wonder how well a hotel style carpet nats would do, like snowbirds or IIC.

5280 would be a great place for it!

Talking to Dirla last night about it but dont know if we would have the room but we are looking into it. We only have 75 pit spots unless we flatten the off road track and put some tables in there for the week then we would have plenty of room!

I spoke with someone today at ROAR who said they have zero bids for carpet or asphalt at this point in time.

We had them at The Gate a couple of times. Once at the old Gate in 2004 and once again at the Strongsville Holiday Inn when the old Gate got flooded out.

I think Reflex would be in the same boat. The pit situation could be a struggle. During our EOS events, we get 50-70 entries but that is spread among 35-40 guys. Seems like there could be another 20 or so, maybe more if the racers didn't take 4ft each.

Once Mikes gets the new facility going, Im positive we will be bidding on a carpet nats again. Not sure if it will be a paragon track though. Prob going to switch it to odorless since we plan on having the carpet track separate from the dirt track.

I tried to get Jeremy down in Houston to bid on the Asphalt nationals. He said he would be more interested in 2016.

We've talked about it and there is a larger group that are willing to put in the effort. Just need to lock a location down that rent isn't super high.

But who wants to come to Seattle right?.... lol

Our max capacity is 64 bodies with 3ft sections. We can fit approximately 30 more if we build/set up tables on the back wall. Our issue is parking during the week. We are only allocated 8 spots during "regular" business hours. However during the weekend we have essentially unlimited spots. We do have space up and down the street, which would be possible to park on, it would just have to be controlled.

We will look into the possibility of hosting and putting in a bid soon. March should be nice weather in Houston with temps in the 70's.
