I've used a couple peoples' Hudy AC truers. They work great for me, both have the carbide bit. Very, very easy to use, and seems to have enough power.

I've got the Ofna fully automatic DC truer and it's great. Basically the same design and I'd say it's the same thing without the name but it works, looks just like the Hudy without the Hudy price.

Maxmod AC's are sweet but just can't seem to find them anymore or at least those who have them won't get rid of them.

Question about arbors...

I am thinking of picking up a Hudy truer and am having troubles finding arbors. Do Ofna arbors fit on the Hudy? Are Ofna arbors any good? Or should I just stick with Hudy arbors? (in particular I am in search of 12th scale and Sedan arbors)

The OFNA arbors do fit the Hudy lathes. Superior Hobbies in FL always has them but you probably need to order it over the phone cause I'm not too sure about their website. I don't know the number right off hand...
