I bought a kit to run blinky. Any reason why some of you guys are running hpi silvers before putting the car on the track? I run blinky TC weekly and mostly on carpet and once awhile on asphalt. Never needed to go up to 16.7 lbs spring. If it works it works, just curious.

mine felt fine with greens up front an blues out back. i might try a harder spring for carpet.

Ok, aside from the LF belts and pullies, what else should I get for options? How are those LF ball ends?

carnage runs the low fric rod ends. he likes them. i dont have them and get zero bind so i dont think ill get them. But i just installed the low fric belts and pulley set and really worked over the bearing cups to get as little bind as possible yesterday. the car was fast today. If could have gotten a clean run i might have set tq but i did manage to eeek out a win today in 21.5 scale spec/vta.
I also ran the green springs and they felt too soft up front and went back to the yellows during qualifying and it felt better. it seems to get more steering with stiffer springs up front. had to raise the roll center in the back by removing the 1mm shims on the inside of the camber links and had great off power steering. the hpi d compound tires we have to run are hard as bricks so everything i can manage to eek out of them helps. thats the only change from the factory setting i have made so far. the car is so smooth its unreal.

I received my Black Edition yesterday and couldn't wait to get busy on the build. Thanks to Gridworks for getting my kit shipped out quickly. Always great customer service.
I sanded the diff bearing caps and it definitely frees up the drivetrain. Still have some work to do but I like to run a car before doing to many tips/tricks. Let it break it naturally. Plastic fitment was pretty snug in some places and required a little extra attention. I'll take sanding over shimming any day. 😉 Instructions are a little vague in places but pretty straight forward for the most part. The black edition came with a full set of the standard screws. I was about 10 screws in to the chassis before I realized there was a seperate bag with all the black hardware. Haha. Live and learn. The only real issues I had with the build were a rear axle that would not go through the bearing. I had to chuck it in the dremel and remove the coating to get the bearings to slide on. The other issue is play in the shock pistons. I'm used to shimming pistons except I can't find my shims, so that's frustrating. 😕. Overall, I'm very impressed with the kit. Mounting electronics tonight and putting it on the setup station. Can't wait to get it on the track. Thanks again to Lemar for hooking me up with a nice kit.
