Default Nosram electronics

Hey guys. Does anyone have experience with Nosram motors and/or esc's? Honestly I'm only considering it due to the esc being red. Sorry, I'm a sucker for red. I've checked the website and states that both motor and esc "Complying with rules of the following federations: IFMAR, EFRA, ROAR, JMRCA, BRCA, DMC" but, it doesn't being approved by any said names. Would it be safe to assume to run either motor or esc and not have problems with tech inspections? I also checked ROAR's website and did not find it on the approved list. Again any experience shared is appreciated. Thanks

Nosram motors

Nosram esc
P.S. After comparing Norsam esc to known and popular esc's in the U.S., I've notice that it closely resembles a LRP Flow esc

the red is what caught my attention. The red will also complete my Capricorn TE01. You think I can make roar legal by swapping the LRP flow internal if its feasible?

Nosram and LRP are the same product.

LRP bought the name from Nosrams owner in 2000, and have been selling red versions of LRP products ever since. You've not seen them in the US as Associated didn't import the brand, and as they aren't sold in the USA or Canada Nosram products won't be on ROARs lists.

This makes perfect sense noticing that even the new Lipo's that LRP is selling is basically the blue version instead of red. So with LRP being identical with Nosram, would there be any problems with Norsam esc as far as tech inspections go?

I would be very surprised if you were allowed to run the Nosram versions, as one of the rules covering approval states that they must be commercially available, in other words you should be able to buy one in a US hobby shop.

If the argument is that you should be allowed to run a Nosram because it's identical to an LRP, then the same argument would allow a Turnigy Trackstar motor to be run as it's identical the the Reedy it's copied from.

That's a pretty decent analogy, but bit different - the trackstar is a copy, made by, I assume, a different factory and has changed quite a few things to make it cheaper (look how thin the solder tabs are alone), but is pretty darn close to the point it can accept reedy parts can't it?

The Nosram is literally identical except anodising. They even run the same firmware.

But they carry a different part number. First of 5 numbers is an 8(LRP) vs a 9(Nosram)! That's enough for ROAR to need separate approval!

not to change subject but i didnt realise the trackstar was a copy of the reedy. its so similar. just has a little more cooling with the stacks exposed vs the reedy. still dont know how much timing is on the trackstar. i have 2 21.5's and both are fast and run cool.

Oh ok I guess that makes sense. I'm only running at a club level right now, but would like to participate eventually on big events to see how I stacked against the big boys. It would have been nice to run their electronics though. Oh well thanks guys for responding,

I guess it does stand out in the crowd. There is quite a lot of blue around, especially as tamiya and yokomo predominantly use it.
