I just noticed the dice on the risk sciences logo are wrong. On a set of dice the opposite side faces always add up to seven, so 5 opposite 2, 4 opposite 3 etc. The dice in the logo has 5 a quarter turn away from 2....cheater dice!!!!

Have the powers that be considered "grouping" the two classes for points purposes? Something like this: Say there were 20 in each class for demonstration purposes:

Pro:

1st
2nd
.
.
.
20th

Sportsman

1st = 21st points
2nd = 22nd points
.
.
.
20th = 40th place points.

This way, the best Sportsman USVTA could do is no better than the last place Pro USVTA finisher.
Then at least those of us who are truly Sportsman racers would get SOME USVTA points for participating.

Just a thought,

Mark
Unfortunately for this race, there is no pro or sportsman USVTA class within the USVTA rules, only USVTA Trans Am. Our policy will be to only score from the top class following USVTA rules.

Isn't sportsman VTA just a nice way of saying VTA E main? Probably doesn't change the points upload.

Rob is correct...unfortunately my plan was not to alienate any VTA racers...it was to give the true sportsman VTA racer a more relax feeling race experience. The National Points system dosent allow for a separate class within the USVTA class..ei sportsman, jr ect...

What I plan to do is figure out a way to make this work for all parties...not sure what...but something...

sorry for any confusion

Looks like we are coming up Thursday now. No reason to come up Wednesday, run for a few hours, then sit around until 5PM on Thursday with nothing to do.

Will there be awards/trophies for the USVTA Sportsman class? Or is it just for grins?

I appreciate the offering of a sportsman class! I don't race vta regularly and am coming just because you guys do such a great job with this race! It is tons of fun! Last year I was dead last and I am still coming back again. If you are serious enough to be worried about points, then run the other class. Because, after all, aren't you chasing points against those upper level drivers anyway? It wouldn't be right to use a national level race as a way to get EASY points. We would have people sand bagging left and right. I don't pretend to be a sportsman driver, I DESERVE to be there. (that is a polite way of saying that I know I suck!)

Not trying to be an ass here, but helps what?

After one re-sort, you're racing against people of your own level anyway.

I see several negatives of this, and am still looking for the first benefit...
