Hey Tom,

Haven't been up there yet myself, there are a couple of things about running there that will be unknowns for me...#1. No Paragon allowed, they only allow a couple of brands of traction compounds so I will have to experiment with that...From what I understand a Plaid / Purple - Cyan / Magenta are what guys are running so in GQ I would try either Cyan / Magenta OR Black / Black-Grey...I have personally been runnign Black / Black-Grey with alot of success...

Take care

Thank's Tige , Last year I used the outdoor tire 40's in front 37's shores in rear , all summer they lasted 4 / 5 weeks . Tured down to 59mm so I could get a little more use out of them . I'll try the indoor tire up there Dec. 10th , I'll order the black / black-gray 2morrow from comp-rc.com.black/ black-gray, Will they last all day if I start them at 57mm running 19t and or stock ?

I have had really, really good wear on them, not sure if they will make it all day at 57, if you start them at 58 I think you would be good to go though...I find with all the tires when you go past a certain point with the thickness of the foam the compound changes due to the foam mixing with the glue used to adhere the tire to the rim....

They should last the whole day depending on your driving style. I ran mine all day yesterday at 57 without too much wear in 19 turn.

so is there a real brand to brand comparison? i see there are purple magenta on the site,are they the same as like a trc purple or magenta? and the dual compound are front tires right? what do you think would compare to like the classic plaid/magenta combo? i think knowing this could really help move some of these

If you are trying to match the traditional combos with combos of GQ here is what I tell people....

JACO/TRC Plaid - Purple ==== GQ Black/Grey - Grey
JACO/TRC Cyan - Magenta ==== GQ Red/Magenta - Magenta

Now the combo I have found no JACO/TRC equal to is the Red/Tan - Tan, which is a very good combo, maybe one of the other team driviers will give a like combo for these tires....

Hope this helps,
John

Last Friday, a play/practice day. I gave my Red/Magenta, Mag for a friend to try who currently is holding track record over my last one by 2 secs. He said it's very similar to Jaco dbl pink/orange and dbl pink. His run wasn't spectacular nor was it slower than his Jacos. He simply said, "Felt good! Didn't do anything out of ordinary."

here's my thoughts on the tire's. red/magenta's give way too much grip for my liking......black/greys give good grip and they feel like the jaco plaid/purples. The red/tan have faster lap times than both of the other compounds, but they get a little twitchy when the bite comes up and they wear unevenly due to the fact that they outter portion is too stiff compared to the inside part of the tire. IMO if they stuck with the tan inside and went to the black outter portion that may make for a killer tire.
