I'd grab a pair of 40's and 37's, then find out what the guys at the track are running...

How does it affect the car to run ECS in the rear?
Can see some team drivers use this option.
Is it a real benefit, only in some circumstances, or just "bling-bling"?

The reason I've been told is to get more steering/rotation from freeing up the rear. I tried it once about 2 or 3 years ago and didn't really feel a difference. Though, I will admit that I could have done a more accurate test than I did.

Speaking as one of those non existent foam racers () we tend to run Matrix, VMR or Caprcorn 26mm tires. Normally with a harder front tire. 40 shore at the front and 37 on the rear, or 37 front and 35 rear. In some cases, 37 shore in a front compound with a 37 rear (but this setting is pretty aggressive).

How do you guys feel about aluminum spool drive cups? I broke a plastic one this weekend, and was looking around for replacements. Would aluminum put more stress on the Ecs shafts? I'm running the 50mm X-ray ecs and have never had a problem with them. Should also note I run the spool with foam tires on carpet. Thanks in advance!

Alu Front steering block
I am looking for a set of Alu steering blocks for my T14. I cant find any in UK model shops or even Ebay. Can anyone tell me where to get some from. they do not have to be original xray.
Cheers

Has anyone tried using the Spec-R once piece center motor mount?
Thoughts?

Metal spool outdrives do tend to put more stress on the drive shafts. I've used Nikita aluminum outdrives many times in the past(they require 50mm shafts. will bind with 52mm). I currently have xray spring steel outdrives in all of my cars. I use ECSes in my 17.5 car and USGT car and I haven't broken any ECS on those cars in over a year, but I had to go back to the kit shafts in my mod car after completely shearing off several of them just from braking at the end of the straight. 3 different kinds of ECS all failed the exact same way. Sheared off just from hitting the brakes at the end of the straight. All broke at the barrel end of the shaft. Current layout at the local track would probably be a bit easier on the car. Last layout was brutal for the forces it put on the cars. I'm not the only one who kept killing shafts under braking. Several friends had similar issues.
The problem is the fit in the outdrive. Xray's outdrives are 1mm larger than the Tamiya dogbone end.
One way to get around this is to use a T1 spool (which is 5mm inside the outdrive and fits the Tamiya dogbone directly) or insert a brass collar in the current Aluminium Xray outdrive and cut the driving slots in it.
Hobbyking HK has originals but of the pair they sent me did not have the thread cut for one of the kingpin ballstuds.

Hi
How good is this car stock out of the box on the track?
Is it easy to tune it for your track or does it take awhile to get it to work right?
Looks amazing ,just wonder if it is really worth the money?
My second choice is the durango detc410
