Dammit. My pre-order finger is getting itchy. Let's hope my new Tamiya falls apart during our first carpet race of the season, then my purchase will be justified

Well, at least the optimised XRAY support you were so excited about means you'll be able to tell Martin and Juraj how ugly the car is to their face...

Looks like the Capricorn LAB-TE02 style anti-roll bar setup.

Now seriously I personally don't like the firs impression of the bulkheads because this type of mounting looks so chunky on a electric TC. But lets wait for the final result tomorrow maybe it will nevertheless look nice on the finished product.

The picture of the bulkhead was the very first prototype model. They have changed a bit since then!

That justifies a little price increase

http://www.redrc.net/2014/09/exclusi...the-xray-t415/

Just the fact that the developer of the car races it, says volume about the company. Just saying...
Got one coming

Would appear so, but I did prefer the way Capricorn did it.

The price increase has not been stated to be $50 as many are claiming here. All that has been said is that there will be a slightly higher price.

Our estimated MAP price is $550.00 which is only $21.00 more than the $529.00 it was on the past kit. This probably means you will find it at close to $530.00 when all is said and done.
Sounds more reasonable but still with the number of very good cheap kits available it is going to be tough for xray to keep there premium price.

Please enlighten us all as to which are "very good cheap kits"

I assume you're talking in Australian Dollars?

Let me preface this with Xray does make great products with a respectable level of innovation and have set a bench mark for quality of fit and finish and strength. ButI do believe they fall a bit short of "luxCary" when you considerall the "must have" tuning parts and upgrades needed. From what it seems they have addressed some of this with the new car, so we shall see.

As for cheaper competitors, 2 come straight to mind. AE and VBC. Both have steppee up there game with better durabilty and comperable build quality to Xray. AE offers a few tuning options out of the box withbIMO the best sway bar system on the market. The AE kit comes in at around $150 less than the Xray as well

The VBC Dynamics comes with both carbon and aluminum chassis, DCJ's', multiple toe blocks, ti-nitride hinge pins and shock shafts, and every shock spring, bladder, piston, an
d swaybar VBC makes. All that for $50 less than a T4 14.

Edit. Forgot to throw ARC in there. Their Black Edition has extras in it and still under price of stock Xray.
