Default Differences between Turbo 30 and 35?

I'm just wondering what the major differences between the Competition Electronics Turbo 30 and 35's are?

I have mostly ni-cd cells right now, but plan on getting some good ni-mh packs soon. Can a T30 charge ni-mh cells or does it not have that capability? Or would I need to/be better off to go with a newer 35 to be able to do that? The 30 and 35's will both run motors/lathes and discharge batts right?

Is it really worth shelling out approx 2 or 3 times as much money to get a T35 rather than an older T30?

Thanks.

The main difference between t30 and t35 is the max amperage at which each model is capable 0of. The t30-30 amps, t35-35 amps. In case you're wondering as well the the t35 stealth gives actual internal resistance(in ohms) of battery where as the t30/t35 give relative resistance(calculated). If you decide to get a t30 ,make sure you get the indy car model(9 button). If you shop around you can fiind a t30 between $200-$250. Check out the swap and sell boards and avoid ebay-you'll get reamed!!--Al

oops, I almost forgot!

The t30(9 button) is fully adjustable so it can easily charge ni-cads or nimh's

I'm assuming when you say "Indy Car Model" that is the ones with the Indy car on the face of the charger? What about the older T30's, the ones that aren't the Indy Car Model's or 9 button, are they any good for ni-mh packs?

Imprezza: Give Jim at CE a call and he can tell you the differances or send an e-mail to their address. He has answered all my questions on the T35 and TD45 that I got used. FYI the differance between a T35 BL and T35 bl Stealth edition is the way the menu's are laid out and the black case on the stealth model. My bud has the BL model and I have the stealth version.

So other than the looks/menu's, the Stealth T35 BL and just a T35 BL are exactly the same?

Upon reading on CE's site, it seems that the original T30 won't do ni-mh cells, but the T30 Turboflex and on will? Would I be correct in assuming this?

Also, what exactly does the "Turboflex" feature do?

Thanks.

Not 100% here on the tflex. That is for NiCad's and I do not have any. It is not used with NiMh, I asked CE on that issue.

Anyone else on the turboflex for the nicads?

from the T35 manual: turboflex (their version of reflex charging) can recondition cells by lowering the internal resistance thru breaking up of the crystalline structure formed by aging cells. it can also reduce heat buildup during charging by reducing gas build up in the cells.

the T35 has 9 intensities, 1 is lowest and 9 highest. turboflex is not recommended for nimh batts.

if im not mistaken, turboflex is similar to tekin powerflex and millenium reverse pulse (not sure, though)

I have the Turbo 35 BL and I'm fairly sure it displays AIR.

Hey -- the T-30 and T-35 both use a voltage threshold for peak detection. Novak claims that you should NOT use this on Nimh cells -- instead you should use "slope detection".

What the heck is that ? And are they just blowing smoke ??

Thanks.

Yup. As both Pro Match and SMC use the Turbomatcher and Turbo 35 in battery matching what do you think. NEither use the novak. I spoke to both Danny @SMC and Jeff @Pro Match on the subject of batteries and chargers prior to the purchase of the T35 that I have. Both recomend the T35 as #1.

Hi, I just bought a T30 two weeks ago.
Manual says it will only charge till 3000Mah.
Is this correct??
Does this mean I can't charge the new GP 3300 to full power ?

sorry!!! I noticed that last night too. I think what will have to be done is that you could set it up for a 2 peak charge or maybe just charge it again until it reaches a certain temp or hits the threshold. I would set the repeak to a .03 threshold that way you would have a little more insurance so you do't overheat them.
