Default 1/12 Large & Small Spur Gear

Hi, I have a question in my mind. Anybody can help ?

Given the rear tyre OD is same, and I using the Spur gear 100T , pinon 25T Vs Spur gear 96T , pinon 24T. They are both gear ratio is 4. What driving characteristics (in top speed and punch...etc) will be ? Tks for your input.

Smaller spur and pinion have less drag, so when lifting of the gas the motor natural drag brake have more resistance and less "hairpin" effect.

By changing your gear sizes like that, you should also notice that the motor moves more to the back.
It affects weight distribution and how the car drives. Usually the it is best to have the motor forward than back.
With small race size tires (41-42.5mm) the 100T spur gear can rub on the track, which is far from ideal. I've be using 92-95spur gears because of this

No difference in top speed or punch.

Usually you want to run the biggest spur/pinion combo you can fit in the car with the rollout you want. The more you move the motor forward, the better the car handles.
