If you like sports go check out the Astros, or Texans. If you dont mind a short drive to Galveston theres the San Jacinto battlegrounds www.sanjacinto-museum.org, Lone Star Flight Museum www.lsfm.org, Moody Gardens www.moodygardens.com, and the beach. If you like amusement parks, theres Astroworld. Theres also a ton of nice museums http://www.houstonmuseumdistrict.org/. The holocaust, natural science, menil, and fine arts museums are all worth a trip.

The Astros and Texans, what sport are they?
I wouldn't mind going to a gridiron match.

Mike's Hobby Shop! If you are coming from Dallas, it is on your way if you hop on the 59 South... Also- what part of Houston are you staying in? It's a fairly big city, and just being is "Houston" is rather vague. If you golf, there's a lot of nice golf courses in Houston.

Thanks for the reply's guys.
Mikes Hobby Shop: I read about this shop on the 'tracks' forum, he's just put in a new outdoor curcuit. Correct?
Houston: Marriot Westchase, 2900 Briarpark Drive is the location of our accomodation.
Vague: yeh I have no idea of what to expect

Yeah, Mike's just opened that track about 2 months ago. It is pretty big, not too wide but really long.

Mike's Hobby Shop has no outdoor track. The City of Carrolton denied the land use permit Mike needed for the outdoor offroad track.

Mike's races indoor electric offroad and carpet (10th and 12th scale). Carpet flat oval on Friday nights, Offroad on Saturday, Carpet on Sunday. Check the web for more details Mike's Hobby Shop .

The title of this thread is about Houston, not Dallas. The Mike's track I am talking about is about 15 minutes north of Houston. It is actually called "Gulf Coast Raceway" but it is part of Mike's Hobby Shop in Kingwood, TX.
