SPEC-R S2 OR SAKURA XI SPORT OPINIONS

Both very good budget clones that drive well in the right hands.
Both are perfect examples of globalization economics in the world (you use the Internet to get parts from Asia at a low price).
It really comes down to "pink or red"

Having owned a spec r s1 and still driving it today, I''ll say go for spec r.
Reason being affordable parts and easy to drive for out of box experience, and parts are pretty hardy in 17.5 class.
Not to mention that their service support are pretty good too

Recently built the XI SPORT and raced it in VTA, great car and you cant beat the price.
Ordered a S2 and should have it soon, not to replace the XI but to compare the two.
On paper the S2 looks to be more adjustable out of the box:
-XI has one location for upper link on bulkhead cover, S2 looks like it has 3 locations.
-XI has 2mm arm spacing(wheelbase) adjustment front and back, S2 looks like it has more.
basicly pick a color, both are great cars for under $120

sakura
I recently purchased a sakura ultimate and have to say its a great car, I have owned both spec r 1 pro and sakura zero optioned out. if you go with a regular kit your just gonna spend a lot of money on all the aluminum and carbon fiber, the ultimate comes with everything. the sakura was more durable and handles great. it also has a wider stance. go sakura. check out racevta.com great prices and quick shipping.

When I briefly owned an R1, the thing I liked was that it was basically like a budget Xray. Most of the parts are cross-compatible and of course you can find Xray parts anywhere. Spec-R seems to be pretty good with parts support as well. I'm interested to see the S2 and the XI sport side-by-side and compare. I'm partial to red but whatever works is the crucial part.
Durability? A Parma or Xray hard bumper fixes that issue with most cars...
