Default Quick question about belts

Here's a quickie;

Can drive belts get sloppy after extended use? The car in question is a XXX4 4WD buggy. The problem is that whenever I touch the brake, it sounds like the belt is skipping. At hard braking it litteraly sounds like the thing is falling apart; I mean, there's HUGE skipping...I think.
I've had the entire drivetrain disassembled and noticed nothing wrong. The problem does not exist when on the throttle.

Perhaps someone has other ideas?

Over time belt will wear out...mostly stretch.

As far as belts skipping under braking, I thought that was a common thing with th XXX4. I don't think it's a problem, I just think it's normal for the belt to skip while under deacceleration on this car. Try tightning your belt or get a new one if it's bad.

Maybe some more familar with this car can help more.

Skipping belt under braking is very common with that car. It sounds horrible under braking.

If you do Experience the belts skipping . It is normal .. But if your replacing your belts ,make sure to replace the pulleys also .. as they do tend to wear , and can cause new belts to wear faster ...
