Default Tires for Autonmous 1/12 Pancar

Hello all,

I am building a autonomous line following robot using a 1/12 pancar (Tamiya RM-01- probably not the best choice). The original tires works fine, but I'd like to make it faster using real Pancar tires. I have taken care of all the mechanical modifications to get the tires on the car.

Here are the spec for the car and the racetrack:

Car weight distribution: 50/50 front and rear
Car weight: 800g~900g
Servo: 0.03sec/60deg
Computer control loop update rate: 200Hz

Carpet: Office carpet
Race Duration: 4 min max
Min corner arc diameter: 6'

Questions:
Since the race duration is so short, should I just use the softest tires for both front and back? Which brand of tire should I get? What should I do to prepare the tire (since there's virtually no time to warm up the tire on the track).

Please let me know if additional variables are required to make the decision.

Here's a video of the car with Tamiya HBR tires on youtube:

if you are using the RM-01 then to fit normal 1/12 tires you will need the option front axles and bearings and remove the rear hex adapters. then you will fit any std rims available rather then using the tamiya stock
