How come the CTS-V is legal then??? Make a concession for one car but not another??? How about the Volvo?

I don't follow Grand Am although I have a friend who races a 911 in that series, I do follow and attend SWC races....

Probably answer to the Parma Alfa since the Accord was made for asphalt rubbers, feels much like a calmer Mazda..

I was watching a race last Sunday on Speed and in the standings on the crawl at the top of the screen I saw 2 cars identified as Pontiac G6. Granted they were in the 20's but they were in there.

The SCCA will make provisions to let cars run provided they fill out the paperwork on a one time basis.... I've seen a mazda miata running with the SCCA TC's... I haven't seen the Pontiac on any technical bulliten yet.... But the rules loosely allow any bonafide road car to compete and the already approved cars are good until 3 years after the body goes out of production....

The Volvo is raced in Touring series over seas. The Caddy is a good example of ROAR letting one slide though.

And my arguement is if you let one slide you have to let them all slide... I personally race a Volvo on the streets

I see your point, but you used to have to run 4-doors, and the CTS-V is a 4-door so I think ROAR just let it in. I'm not entirely sure anyone at ROAR knows what's actually racing in the real world. If they did we certainly wouldn't be running any stratus body any longer!

But, ROAR did not let us run the Protoform 300M and it was a four door. We could run it at the club level but not at sanctioned races. The two-door Vauxhall Astra is raced in some TC series but is not on their list of approved bodies, but the 4-door version is. But by their rules, the Astra is legal but because it is not on their list, then it is illegal (speaking in nitro touring car racing terms). For 200mm racing, there should be a re-evaluation of the classes of cars raced and new classes with body specifications should be laid out (like Tamiya does with their TCS series).

Cause my chevelle forum has no avatars, my corvette forum does so I shrank my corvette down a little further to fit here... My chevelle is silver and doesn't look good at 80x80 and my Volvo is the "family" car... Although I'm a little unimpressed by the way the tranny shifts is manual mode....

How many of us actually follow real racing???

BTW... The volvo S60R is awesome looking in person... I've always been a volvo fan....

TC's don't handle well already, do you honestly want them to handle worse?

I follow all kind of real racing. The best one is unforttunally not in car racing, but in Moto GP. Vale rules.

Btw; Jukka Steenari drives a S60R...

the thing about roar is it leaves to much room for inturpertation. I think that if it says "run in a touring car series" then any body that is ran in any tc class should be legal. Isn't GT a touring series? What about the JTCC? Look at it like this, if it said any body ran in a nascar series, that would mean anybody ran in a series with nascar sanctioning right? So then a truck series, bush series, or cup series would all be legal?
