Default 1/12 tires for asphalt

I'm new to the whole pan car thing after only ever driven touring cars and buggies. I have no idea what compound to run as most threads are about carpet. My local track is asphalt and I'll be running 13.5 blinky.

You gonna start racing at Adrenalin arena with us?
Best place is like the guy above said, pink rear, double pink front.

I would start with aforementioned.

How is the track surface treated? If it's high traction I would look at harder fronts and rear. But, check with the local fast guys.

I would be interested in knowing what the fast guys at the Adrenalin track are running. I myself will be attending the AOC race in July, so any information on tires, additive and bodies would be helpful.

We don't put anything onto the track to make it grippy, but it is sticky just because it's new, clean, indoors, smooth etc.
Not as high traction as high traction carpet, but very good traction, I'd call in Med-high.

Thanks guys. I was somewhat on the right track as I ordered pink front and rear. I think Metro has some Dbl pink front in stock when I looked a few days ago though.

Yeah, Andrew, I'll be running at Adrenalin arena. I've always loved how pan cars look and how 'simple' ( Somewhat simple. They're like go karts, basic design but very complex when you look into them. ) they are but I've never had a place near me where I can run them.

yeah, I always loved them too, but never had anywhere to run. soon as I heard AA was opening, I brought an pan car. Pink front's will likely be too much, but try them before you buy more, it might work fine for you. depends how you set your car up as well. maybe harder front springs will work good with pink fronts.

I'll just pick up a pair of dbl pinks. Easier to start with what's known than to try and make something work when I don't know much anyway.

What's a good ESC that won't need a booster or REC pack by the way? I'm looking at a LRP "Flow" WorksTeam ESC and a Vector X20 StockSpec 13.5 combo but I want to run a Savox 1257MG. I know they're power hungry servos so would that work without the need of anything else?

I would buy either the new Gforce 1s esc, built in caps booster and switch saving lots of room on the chassis, available from Ren at RAB hobbies or from NP racing solutions (Nic).
Both in Melbourne.

Or the Hobby wing V3.1 1s version(I use it, so it must be good! .
It also has the built in switch, booster and capacitors.

Personally, I don't like the savox, and the spline output is slightly off from where it is on the KO/futaba's etc.
I use the futaba brushless servo ofr 1/12th.
rab hobbies for this

You should come down for the Japan All Nationals in July. It's held in Kita-Kyushu, near Fukouka. All the top 1/12 guys will be racing, however it will be on carpet not asphalt.

What chassis are you running?

I currently have a CRC XL, I have not raced 12th since 2009. I was thinking of updating it to the XTI, but I am not sure yet. I was also looking at getting some of the ultimate racing tires as we'll for this AOC race.
