Default Gearing

Hi,

What would be the difference in a 25/45 gearing and a 26/46 gearing?

I understand this: 45/25 = 1.8, and 46/26 = 1.769230769230769.

But how does this relate in terms of motors, will any of these gearing have a bad effect running a 1900kv motor on 6s? Thinking in terms of speed runs!

Thanks

The 46/26 gear ratio will have higher RPMs, all else equal. The motor position will also be different, but not by a whole lot.

Do you foresee any over-heating issues though?

Only if you were already at the limit with 45/25. After all, it's just gearing up by about half a tooth (since you also use a larger spur gear). Should work just fine.

I've never run those gearing, I only ran 19/48 so far but I just got a 26t pinion and will be ordering a 46t spur.

What do you mean by "at the limit"?

Thanks
