Even the mod drivers don't bother with this any more on the Awesomatix. |
Must resist! :)
|
I can't wait to see the CAD images of this. It might finally be time to retire my EVO IV...
|
A big THANKS to you KenTech. We all appreciate the news.

...buying one.

Ohhh, anoher car is getting the tamiya bling treatment!
It says it used new dampers, with a short big bore...are those going to be different from the current short ones on the tb04 pro kit? |
no pic no talk:tire::tire::tire:

I think the floating front gear box on A700 is what makes it not torque steer mostly. Torque steer is also reduced simply by using brushless motor. The rotor has so much less rotational inertia compared to brushed. But I still notice slight torque steer when using 17.5. Hopefully the Evo 6 can have option to go longitudinal and horizontal on the motor.

I was looking forward to this car coming out, but they lost me with this... I was once hooked on the blue crack, but now have gone to straight vodka. Hopefully they at least do something to get the FDR into the low-mid 3's without hacking it like the TB04...
http://www.exotekracing.com/tb04-stock-motor-adaptor/ $12 and TCS legal. The fastest single lap at the TAMIYA America regional in gt3 was a tb04...he was around 3.20. |

If you can't be bothered to grind the one plastic part, just buy this:

Anyways, as a former owner of 2 EVO 5 MS cars with the Exotek lipo conversions, I was really looking forward to the 6 release. The horizontal motor mount is just not what I was wanting to see in it. |

I know the feeling. |
Here it is, the new EVO 6, what a Beauty :D
http://file1.npage.de/006883/53/bilder/evo_06.jpg I think the new one is not very different from Simmi`s Racing Factory EVO Exotek 418  I Think new Bulks and Chassis, Topdeck, (Arms, Axles, Stabi all 418). Haha, my is the Future, I like :p But one NEW is mine!!!!! |
The Exotek TB Evo 5 is still extremely competitive in 17.5 class racing. Was hoping for something similar with the Evo 6, but if Tamiya is saying its horizontal, then it makes it a less attractive offering. At least for me it does...

Yep that is what I was saying. Why not keep all that weight towards the center of the car. That is another advantage for a shaft drive keeping that weight in the middle. Who knows, maybe they will have a way to mount shorty packs horizontal as well...

My EVO5 MS was great but felt outdated. My thoughts of the TB04 is that I believe it was intended to run Mabuchi motors. Thats why the gearing is the way it is. Hopefully the EVO6 will give what racers are looking for.

Let me know when you plan on coming down
|
OMG im getting one of those! hopefully it doesnt cost as much as a 418...
|
I will be getting one of these. It says that it shares gearboxes with the TB04, I hope that the gear diffs and crown gears will fit on a TB04 so that I can keep the old banger going. The biggest problem I have with spares for the TB04 is the gearbox components.

glad tamiya released an updated EVO, but it's got this thing called awesomatix to compete with...
|
But Awesomatix doesn't have the blue bling and I think it is also roughly $300-400 more.
