I was all set to pull the trigger on the TB EVO 6 MS but after reading into it I have concerns about the additional gear box that's needed to run the transverse motor negating the efficiency of the shaft drive power train.

Plan B was to get a TA-07 Pro with some extensive option parts but I liked the fact that the TB was shaft drive and came pretty well equipped out of the box.

I'm a regular off-road driver who is looking to get back into on-road for a change of pace, so I won't be able to push either option to its limit. I just want to make sure I don't choose a chassis that is completely wrong for VTA.
I occasionally race my Evo6 MS in 17.5 class and it's fantastic. I have also tried it in 21.5 with the same results. I don't really think the EXO conversion will do wonders for you on the VTA class. even with the additional gear, the car rolls very smoothly with almost no drag (as opposed to my belt driven mod touring car). If later on you think of racing on 17.5T, I think the Exo conversion will help the car turn faster and maintain speed mid corner better than the stock configuration.

Evo6 MS still has acceleration advantage over the hot new TA07...

But the EXO-SIX makes it real easy to switch from 25.5/25.5/17.5 very easily with minimal changes . I know because I've done it lol.

Does anyone have 64DP spur/pinion gearing recommendations for 13.5T blinky with the Exotek chassis? Thanks.

48pitch 58/35thru39 would be my recommendation. You don't want to be changing mashed spurs lol!

Yeap, you're right! It's a pain in the butt to change spurs on this thing. The c clips really suck more so in such a beautifully crafted car.

It all depends on the size and configuration of the track. It is a short technical track or a big track with a lot of sweepers? 64 pitch will work fine but if you want a little more durability, go with 48 pitch.

Well I've got another first world problem... I was planning on getting some aluminum lower bulkheads for my two Exo6's... Well that isn't going to work. Can't seem to find them anywhere as they have already been discontinued.

Any one know where I could find 4 of them.

Thanks

Well, it sounds like another opportunity for "Mr. Exotek" to come up with another brilliant conversion for this chassis. I'm sure he has designs on the table already. Big question always is "can I sell enough of them for it to be profitable"? As we can see he's an expert at looking at where there is an opportunity to make improvements on current design and making it better. Latest examples: new aluminum C hubs, light weight spool and out drives. Maybe if we all collectively continue to bitch a lot about the the poor fit of the plastic bulkheads he'll reveal to us whether or not he can produce them at a cost the market would be willing to spend for them. He listened to us complain about the sloppy C hubs and he came up with a wonderful solution. If you haven't had a chance to see them yet, check them out on the Exotek website. I was fortunate enough to grab a set of them before the first batch sold out and I ran them yesterday. They fit great and for me they make steering more direct without all of the wobbly slop you find in the factory C Hubs, not to mention they look really nice finished in black.
