-Viper 17.5

They all work really good.

I recommend staying with a ROAR-approved motor. X20 and Z3R both are on the list. Been looking at the X20 w/2200kV. No kV specs on the Z3R at the TP website. Most 17.5T come in around 2200. Reedy being the exception at 2303kV (Really, Reedy, 2303? Spare me please.).

I'm looking from the drag racing (rpm) perspective, so Reedy has the lead right now for me. Drawback is that it is listed as limited to 2s power - as is the X20. For that reason, TracPower 17.5 is getting a look from me. It is ROAR-approved, and 3s capable. It comes in so far with the least kV, at 2100.

Soldering lugs are important to me too. Reedy and TracPower both have the 'beefy' angle lugs I'm used to working with on my Novak Ballistic. X20 - saddle lugs - which I'm not familiar with, but look perhaps a little more tricky to solder to. Small thing, but important in the pits.

So, perhaps add the TracPower 17.5 to your list for consideration? Good luck. May you pick a winner.

The Trakpower 17.5 is slow. One of our local guys had to switch to all Trakpower ESC/motor/batts because of a sponsorship and he definitely got slower after switching from a D3.5 to Trakpower 17.5

kV ratings don't mean a single thing because there's no standard between companies. They could be completely different. One company might say 1850 and the other say 2250 and you'll never be able to tell which is faster until you run it.

My understanding is the Team Scream motor has passed the tech inspection and is now in ROAR's hands.

From the dyno testing and track testing you may be surprised...

The team scream motor cant be legal AND faster than a illegal outlaw D3.5 ...
I will not believe the hype. Heck even the web site is so behind it still advertizing brushed motors and nimh packs . Ill stick with my trackstar and orca untill the D4 surfaces
