Lost signal on rc car

I have a modified exceed driftstar with a hobbywing esc and tacon motor and I run on 2s lipos. A big problem that I need to fix is the transmitter. It reaches very little distances, and when it is off or out of range and the car is on, the car simply drives full speed into the nearest wall. Would a programming card be able to fix this and tell the car to stop driving when signal is lost instead of to drive? I am planning on getting a new transmitter, but how can I fix this now so that my car does not keep crashing? Thanks.

Is a programming card able to tell an rc car to stop when signal is lost?

Sounds like you might have a bad transmitter or a bad receiver. A program card for the ESC won't help.

A programmer isn't going to help. If u have an old style crystal system radio try a new set or extending your antennas

So it is the transmitter. In a way that a relief because I was hoping to get a new transmitter anyway. Thanks

The AM or FM radios don't like brushless systems. Be sure to get a 2.4ghz radio.

I think the question was can you program to go full brake on loss of signal?????

I have never seen an ESC that had a fail-safe feature. The fail-safe was in the radio system.

I have heard good things about the flysky gt2, 3b, and 3c, but which one would be the best for me if I were trying to spend as little money as possible while still having necessary features. Thanks!

I was thinking of just going for the gt2, but would it be missing any features that I would need?

SteveM 03-17-2014 02:08 PM

I recommend you look for a better radio over anything sold by Flysky

Ructo 03-17-2014 02:09 PM

Okay, but I was hoping to spend probably less than 60 dollars. Any ideas?

Ructo 03-17-2014 02:32 PM

Actually, I'll go up to about 100 dollars.

Amain has an Airtronics MX-V FHSS-2 2.4GHz Radio System w/92625 3-Channel Waterproof Receiver for $100.
