Here's some info on brush contents I found on a site,

Brushes:

For serious modified racing, M2005 6% silver brush is the only way to go. Designed for all out racing, they offer the most torque out of any brush that we carry. The M2000 (2% silver) are designed for racer who are looking for longer brush life without sacrificing too much performance. The M2007 (full copper) is designed for large track where high rpm is needed. The M2007 also offers the longest brush life out of all modified brushes.

Our M3038 TQx X-Pattern 4% silver stock brush produces incredible power out of our stock motors and it is seriously recommended by Integy full-sponsored factory drivers. Our other popular stock motor brush is the M3002 Serrated Super Power Laydown brush (which is essentially the same compound as the Reedy 767 brush). These offer great torque and excellent life.

Turbo Cooled Johnson

Can anyone tell me how many turns this motor has? My bro has a TA-02 and he wants to know if he can use this motor without using an ESC. I got this motor together with my RS4 and I think its faster than most stock rebuildables. I'm guessing its about 19 to 23 turn but I want to be sure.

13X2...very slow for such turn...but when I got it the brushes they are almost gone and I run it for about 10 more packs, I guess I need to cut the comm and change the brushes then I can see the true speed.

Another question.

I opened up my yokomo stock and I broke the teflon him, can I buy the shim only? Also can I replace it with regular steel washer?

I like Race Prep's Teflon shim set myself but I know that Peak and Trinity also make them.

I don't want to sound like a newby, but I am not sure how to read the information on the side of the motor cans. I've been racing for several years on a carpet oval that is @ 155ft. long, if that helps. It's never been explained to me.

Almost everyone races a P2K or the P2K2. I like competing, but I also like being a little different. I'm not a fan of staying with the flock.

now that the p2k2 has come out, the gap between the p2k and the gm3 has pretty much disappeared. from what i was hearing, the gm3 was the motor for oval. now the p2k2 has the torque of the p2k AND the rpm of the gm3. my guess is the go w/ the p2k2. not for the flock, but for the performance. peel the label off the can if you want to be different.

if i need to be part of the flock to be 1st, so be it. i have 4 new p2k2 (2 are stock, 2 are pros) and every single one seems to very fast. the funny thing is though, my 2 stocks seem to be better than the 2 pros. anyway, i can't seem to find a weakness in this motor... a definite addition for the x-mas list!

I have some dyno'd P2Ks, a P2K2 and some dyno'd GM3s and I have been running my GM3s more often lately.

In fact I have been running a really light FDR (like 8.2+) and am just as fast as anyone. Granted this is a relatively tight (but long) carpet track. I do love having the motor come off the track under 140 degrees though!

Proudwinner: I am not sure if you heard about the mis-fortunes of Lightspeed, they were broken into about three of four weeks ago. Apparently it has Mark (the owner) in stitches as they were pretty much cleaned out of the good stuff.

If there is anything you need from Lightspeed I can call Mark and ask him anything about his stock for you. As for the percentage of silver in the brushes I have, I can't be sure. But, I found more RPM's running a Lightspeed hard high-silver brush on the negative and a Pro-Match 4011 on the positive.

Futureal: 8.2+???? I couldn't hang with the boys down here if I ran that low. I usually run a 5.25-6.5 FDR staying below 210 degrees to keep up with the others. An MVP cannot handle that load but the P2K's and GM3's are great! I can't wait till the Core comes out next month! Do you have pics of the track you frequent? From what I hear my local Ozite track is very tight and fast. If 8.2 is the way to go I will need to buy the spurs for it.
