really, what kind of track are you running it on. I've never tried a epic yet, and i don't like reedy, i used to run a monster, but it well, it's in the trash(something went wrong inside). I still have to try team 1, and other "odd" brands. I like to have a very strong sense in my motor. I don't like smooth, i like rough, and torquey(sp).

okay, just did some research, going to change my order, haha. So what is the best TUNED stock motor. I mean team 1, paradigm, axiom, a company that is known enough to have my lhs order for me. Or should i just get a monster, and try to tune it myself.

pro3racer, I have the Monster stock by Fantom and love it. It's easy to tune because Fantom has their own brushes they sell for that motor. So really, you don't have to tune much, but you can mess with the springs and timing if you want.

Just go with the trinity monster pro. I have both fantom and trinity monsters and cannot see the difference.

I would highly recomend the Putnam Monster stocker. I've also tried them all and yet to see another motor come close to what I can get out of the putnam motors.

Just my .02c

Uh, mess with timing???

Those BS motors make good smoke! Guy at my track had one in his trip X T, with the 86 spur and 19 pinion. I think he was over geared just a little.....

i agree, my monster i ran over the summer, lasted about 6 weeks, then it got slow, and then some how came un balanced, and locked up, and made a little fire. I did run a paradigm p2k2, and that lasted me a good season and a half, and never gave me problems. This fall and winter was bad to me, blew up three motors, (paradigm, monster, Reedy Ti).

We had 3 guys have theirs go up in smoke on Sunday.
It was pretty funny to see, but stunk real bad after.

timing.....by cutting some material off the trailing edge of the brush you: increase timing, increase the rpm, decrease arcing on the comm making the motor smoother, and lose some torque

i have had no luck with it in Touring cars
went down 2, then 3 teeth, on 48P gears
went to dual red springs then red + & green -
tried 2 other types of brushes
tried a Monster arm in the Binary can (they appear alike at first...the BS arm is shorter and has 4 less laminations on the stacks)

NO Luck....it's still a dog

mine was the EPIC factory tuned version and had heavy trinity purple springs on both sides. after two 5 min qual heats the arm had wear on the comm equivilent to a Monster with 9 heats on it.

now the offroad guys are gearing them with 15T 48P pinions and they like everything but claim the motor lacks brakes / braking power. brakes worked fine for me in TC?
