That sounds like a decent setup to try, & yes, that is a Paradox motor(the first rebuildable stock, fairly similar powerband to the P2K 2 & it's the same as the older Midnight 2, which was the same motor but was not rebuildable). If you don't like the feel of it with 4505's, then just throw in some Reedy 767's(with the same springs) & see if that feels better....

Schumacher, you don't know by now that all trinity motors are epic?

by the way EPIC stands for Ernie Provetti Import Company FYI.

Well fantom gets their p2k/p2k2, gm3, and monster teardowns from trinity. They will still say "EPIC" on teh top of the endbell. I don't mean to sound arrogant in any way, i'm just letting you know is all.

I think the main difference betweem these companies is that Trinity, Reedy, maybe Orion do their own motor design and development then get Yokomo, EPIC and Top to manufacture.

Where as companies like Fantom, Peak, Putnam Propulsion, et al do motor tuning and so aren't limit to the motor they use.

Exactly, the big companies like Reedy & Trinity actually do much or all of the design work, & then get their manufacturing partner(Yokomo for Reedy, EPIC for Trinity) to build 'em. But smaller "tuner" companies like Fantom, Lightspeed, Banzai, Axiom, etc. just buy the parts & concentrate on tuning. While that means they don't have any input on motor design, it does leave them plenty of freedom to use whatever springs & brushes they wish. Plus, they don't have to be tied down to just one manufacturer, they can sell ALL of the popular motor designs if they wish, so they can have ready a good motor for most ANY track & situation....

Monster stock

i have heared all this stuff about gearing them at 7.5 and so on

well its crap

i started there and my tires where hotter then my motor at the end of the race

I am now at 6.5 and the motor is slightly hotter then my tires, more like battery warm

the car still manages to break traction on all 4 wheels out of corners, even with sorex 28s(perfect tire for the track) on my high grip track

The motors feels like it has more in it so i plan to try 6.3 next time iam at the track

Finaly, i think this is the best stocker out there, my car is the fastest car on the track i just think people need to gear em right

Hey ALL ,!! I've ran a number of motors in my time and the Monster motor just cant seem to hang with my driving style.. it gets hot to quickly and no mater where i gear it, its sitll a headache to me so I won't try that motor again I'll stick to PK,s there always putting me in alot of top finishing spots at the races ... hte monster might be good for some but I still like alot of torq and mid range to win races......OH !!!!!! I do burn alot of motors...... HEY POP'S WHAT"S UP ???????

I have a variety of stock motors and none of them even come close to my Monster stocks.

They just seem to have a huge power band, I have run them between 5.6 - 6.9 on the same track and it always comes back cool after 5 minutes. at 5.6 it still seems to have more then enough torque with the added top end.

I'm not planning on changing motors in hurry.
