Default touring car tyre truer for rubber tires

Do people still use these? Besides scrubbing new tires what other benefits are there?

Most people just use a sander on rubber tyres now. Mainly to take the moulding ridge off the centre of the tyre with sandpaper, occasionally for cleaning.

I use my foam tire truer only to run the tire so I can get rid of the moulding ridge on the centre of the tire and use sand paper to lightly scuff the tire.

I use the Muchmore tire sander to remove the centre ridge from the tire and it is also a quick check for tire/wheel balance and to check the bond of tire to the wheel.
