Just tried out one of the BMI motors today and it was wicked fast! I haven't run stock in a while and there wasn't a mod turn out today so I ended up running pro stock and put in the BMI motor. I definately had no problem keeping up or passing on the back straight.

No prob, Joe. I think I'm going to need to get my own BMI motor, though. I have a feeling that once mom puts one in her car I'll never get to see it again! lol.

Howard and Tim - thanks! I've actually been a mod for a while now and have fun getting to edit/delete posts j/k. The FL guys haven't been keeping Tim Potter or I busy over there lately. lol. And about that thread earlier - If I could've deleted/locked it, you know I would have. Those things get on my nerves

Default Motors

I thought by the roar rules u cant modify the endbell or brushoods you can align them aslong as u use the previous holes no slotting or any other mods

We'll... depending on how technical one wants to get, the same can be argued with the polishing of an armature shaft, since technicaly your removing material from the arm making it smaller and lighter.....same go's for cleaning your brush hoods with a comm stick..."technically" your moddifing them by removing small amounts of material........There was a thread just a couple weeks back discussing the "impossibility", and the "impracticality" of teching such areas with a "super exact" measurement on the current motors available in our hobby.........What it comes down to is that the factory tollerances on the things I mentioned (and many more) are not exactly uniform to begin with, therefore making certain inherent features impossible, impractical, and completely unfair to tech.......Not to mention really bad for the hobby........Back to your question... knocking off the edge, or very often a bur from the upper stamped section of the brush hood screw hole is hardly changing the holes location or slotting...... The same Brush hood alignment can also be achieved with the force of an alignment tool for any that would perfer .......either way..same end result..... It's one of those things that should have been correct to begin with......and I think it's wrong for the hobbist to have to go thru 15 motors to get a correct one because of a overseas companys quality control issue... ......this is why I believe that this, will never be something to worry about as a tech issue ...............
