Danny: I thought you had an exclusive on the IB3800? What exactly do you have an exclusive on? The shrink wrap?

Well...yes. Similar to the GP rainbow shrink you sell, as opposed to the green and orange GP USA sells.

Jack I really dont want to get into a big fight about this.....it serves no purpose. It is just that Danny although might have said it wrong (if I give him the benefit of the doubt)....but our cells are not reshrunk....here in the USA.....they are shrunk "FRESH IN CHINA" the same as everyone else who buys IB..........and that goes for GP batteries as well.

If he is collecting shrink wraps that is fine....but I felt it was misleading...that is all

BTW....I heard your tires were great in Vegas....congrats on your impressive wins down there

I am not sure if this has been asked? But what seems to be the compound to run run for these 2 stage tires in TC stock? On ozite that is.

Danny/SMC 10-05-2005 02:52 PM

Ernie sorry for the confusion. Nice to see you on here. Now I can debate with you without getting kicked off like Techtalk. :)

You should be happy that we let people know that EPIC3800/ IB3800 is the same cell because were advertising them while your still advertising GP.

ErnieP 10-05-2005 02:54 PM

Yeah thanks for all the advertisements Danny :-). Appreicate it.......we are still selling GP as well as our Epic 3800 cells.

I will try not to get too emotional so Shane wont have to kick me off here....lol

I don't recall any implication that suggested the cells were reshrunk domestically. Perhaps "rebadged" would be more appropriate since they are , after all, IB manufactured cells. Anyway, semantics aside, we sell IB and you sell Epic. We aren't trying to take credit for any of the Epic accomplishments. We simply must prove the legitimacy of this cell to those who doubt it's competitiveness.
I appreciate the comments about the race.

Ding...round one :D Just kidding guys.

We only make one front and one rear: 4160 and 4156. These are double pink/orange and double pink respectively. I feel they make the biggest impact in stock and 19 turn sedan. In mod the cars are so fast and on edge, the difference is not as easily recognizable.

Where can i get these now, where.

Well... I guess we all know by now that SMC 3800 and EPIC 3800 are both manufacturered IB. They say it's the same, or are they?

Maybe people have forgotten that SMC and Trinity are both "MATCHERS" in this respect and perform "value added service" to an already existing product. I would think that their matching process would be somewhat different and hence produce different results/ end products. Same case with GP for all other companies that matches these cells.

When asked if SMC and EPIC 3800 are the same, the answer would be NO.

UNLESS.... Trinity bought the matched batteries from SMC and re-shrunk without performing any additional matching/processing to the cells. But I doubt this because they won't make any profits this way...
