Looks to be operator error if the tire came off the rims. hehe At least looking at the TITC FB page with all the pics of the racers gluing their own tires.

Ride tyres. The new rims were very fragile and the insert was sometimes glued to the rim. With the rims, a slight traction roll would end with 3 broken wheels

Thanks. I had expected to see Jilles mount a strong challenge.

Yokomo is going to buzzsaw the field this year.

Ride tires were only an issue with the crazy speed in the mod class from what I was told.

That or maybe the political turmoil going on in Thailand had a part in the craziness :P Too bad none of the major websites or magazine covered this race. Again, maybe they didn't want to travel there because the country has been nuts lately.

Yokomo tearing up with the BD7 overseas, but we still can't get a decent Yokomo USA/distribution down here.

Where the track was located, was nowhere near the protest sites.
If you didn't go near them you'd barely know anything was up.
The track was very hard to find for taxi drivers, but once there the track people had a shuttle service running people back to there hotel, or to a taxi rank.

There was a decent bump at the end of the straight heading in to the sweeper that was bringing quite a few unstuck.

The amount of rubber on the track was amazing.
One thing I did notice thought was the lead cars appeared to be running a higher body than the others, as the teltail was again the bumps in the sweeper.

Just something I noticed while watching qualifying on the Saturday.
I only got to drop in for the one day, but I'm defiantly racing there next year.

Amazing facilty, and appeared to be running like clockwork.
So if your able to go next year, put it as a must do meeting.

Ride tires are always an issue in Mod. It's a shame because this has happened with those tires at more than one major race and it's not uncommon knowledge that they don't work well in mod. Unfortunate too because it's one more thing to keep people from running mod when they see issues like this that are perfectly avoidable by not using that wheel/tire in these conditions.

Although some of the mod and open brushless tires weren't glued well from the factory, it didn't overshadow how awesome the event was.

Shuttles to the track, great weather, professional tech and track control, great hobby shop support, controlled practice (was told last year people had to wait hours for a practice run), lots of friendly pro drivers, and a fantastic facility.

Anyone who complained about this event needs a punch to the groin.

Thank you Huge RC and all the race sponsors. Job well done.

Any differences between new ride 34 compared to old 34?

The tyre is a different compound, was a bit softer and the rim is different. the rim was much stiffer, the insert gap was a little bit more and the offset is also different

It was a fantastic event. I really enjoyed my first TITC and will be back for sure. The protests didn't affect the event at all. I didn't even see anything related nor any disruption and I had a rental car and drove everywhere without issue!

There were issues with the ride wheels in mod however the open brushless class had no real issues to report. The only real issue I had was that the tyres/wheels were very out of balance and I struggled to find balanced sets. I think that could've been a main reason why the mod guys were having wheel rim failures.

Brilliant track and I can't wait to attend the 200mm IC worlds in November!

I was told a lot of people were running replica protoform touring car bodies at this event?
