Got tired of waiting and bought the KO. Since I was going to the Spektrum I didn't need the synthesized module.

Yeah, I hear ya. I have so many JR 310 and 300 receivers though I can't waste them all. I like the Helios radio will just have to wait for the thing. Just wanted to get an idea of how long I will have to wait?!?

They should be in soon. I heard they've cleared customs. Call Horizon tomorrow morning, 800-338-4639.

dmayhew25 You will be happy to know that you will still be able to use your existing receivers. The new Z-1 comes with a synthesized module. That's right you will be able to dial your frequency in.

I just wanted to revive this thread now that it's been out for a while and get some opinions. Anything difference between it and ex-10? (besides module)
do all the helios aftermarket upgrades work/fit.

Yes all the KO upgrades work with the Z-1.

The drop down wheel is a must.

odawg315 the helios/z1 blows the xs3 pro away. They're not even in the same league.

odawg315 the helios has more features than the xs3 pro (anti-lock brakes, servo speed, display adjustment, etc.). Also, I think you'll find it way more comfortable. You can use the ICS program and cable to save your settings to a PC. It's useful if you have more models than memory (I have about 20 cars and trucks) or if you're like me you like to try different radio setups. I run my TC on multiple surfaces and tracks and I can have 4 or 5 different radio setups for the same car saved on my PC. If one doesn't work I can go back to the original without reprogramming. The Helios is easier to navigate than the xs3. Every car based adjustment is easy to get to with the jog dial. Just turn the dial till you get to the adjustment and hit enter. Fix your adjustment and then hit back. Also, you can customize what functions appear on the screen. If you mainly run nitro, you can have nitro based adjustments only. If you run elctric, you can have electric adjustments only. The xs3 pro only has a lap timer. The helios has up, down, and lap timers. If you buy the Z1, I do recommend that you buy the drop module.
