Corner scales
 

Hey guys,

I'm working on something and I'm looking for all the different options of doing corner weights.

I have and currently use 4 scales from Harbor Frieght. What other options are out there? I've dug though old threads and haven't found much else other than this setup here http://www.lefthander-rc.com/catalog...oducts_id=1638 and what I currently use.

The only other thing I have managed to find it this one from Longacre Racing http://www.longacreracing.com/catalo...id=920&catid=1. I recall someone posting another one up some time ago. I want to say it was only for F1 chassis though? It was all setup in its own case and everything. The Longacre Racing system is more like what I'm looking for but the price is steep. If you know of anything else a link or other info would be perfect.

I use four of these.

I use something cheap I found on ebay from hong kong. 1kg max pocket scales.

That said, I only ever use them for getting a rough idea of front/rear weight distribution. For left / right I lift by the shock towers, and for de-tweaking I set droop with a gauge + use the lift technique. It just seems easier and more reliable. Whenever I tried to balance or de-tweak with scales, it just seemed like they were too finicky, and I'd end up making things worse.

I just use an MIP tweak station. It does just about the same thing when checking to see if the car is perfectly balanced with respect to corner weights. It's also significantly easier to carry than four scales.

thats a slick scale setup. for 140 not bad. but shipping and the wait. ugh. i like my 4 little scales. my car is very close so they work fine. and i paid less that 50 for all 4. but that one is cool with percentages front to rear and left right. would be great for the oval guy.

You do realize that the Longacre system is for FULL scale auto racing.:batman:

I was lookiing at that recently and wondered how difficult it would be to use those without getting constantly confused by the layout of the display. Notice theirs. If it wasn't for this I would have to consider one.

EDIT Just realized you could plug them in the wrong hole and relabel the display to get a traditional layout.

Are you referring to how the front of the car is actually to the left of the display? I could see how that might confuse someone.

That is a nice system but how often will you use it? I don't see taking it to the track every time unless you are constantly using different batteries, escs and motors. For me I would probably use it once or twice since I don't change my electrical stuff much.
