TC4 Gearing

Hi All-

Just got into racing and I have an old tc4. I upgraded the tc4 from its old stock motor to a brushless setup but I would only go about half as fast as the other guys on the track because of gearing (stock gearing right now)

The guys at the track said I should get a 76 tooth spur gear and a 53 tooth pinion with 64 pitch on both. Before I buy are these the right things to get:

towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCHWE&P=7
towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXWLK2&P=7

We race on a basketball gym floor if that matters.

I also noticed they all had tons of spur and pinion gears - is there a kit that just has a number of them so I can try different ones? Also, do I need to buy specific gears for my car or are all the brands the same size.

Thanks!

There's a great tc4 thread on here where you can find a lot of knowledgeable guys. first off 76/53 sounds really really high. If your just going to be racing at that club you wont need a big variety of gears. The stock gearing on your tc4 should be 48 pitch. and gearing size depends on the pitch of the gears. But its standardized so any brand will work. here's the thread, http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...d-tc4-825.html

Ah, sorry - I will throw my question into the tc4 thread and read it over.

Thanks

No problem, but 48p is so durable that there is no incentive to go to 64p with such a tough spur gear to change.....
