41 6:03 was the TQ but that was the week the layout was put down !

Anyway I wish the best of luck to Olly, very nice guy.

Ah. I see. I was comparing the Festivus results with our current results on the layout.

See Olly tq'd first time out with the 12th car in the 10.5 class at the Crewe round of the British National series - half a second covered the top four!

Yep, I believe he got clipped by Dave Spashett in the last minute which stopped a better result in the final.

However, he took the TQ and win in the modified class today making him the UK national modified 1/12 champion.

Not bad for his first weekend with a completely different car (the previous rounds were all with his Associated car)

So does this make Bickerstaff AE no.1 UK touring driver?

This lad is a serious talent who is more than capable of leading the line for AE. He has been with the AE for a long time and I understand that he has signed for 2014 at a time when everyone else has jumped shipped.

Would be great if the team would reward his loyalty with the support needed to enable him to compete for the 14 National title.

Considering in his native Northern Ireland there is only one TC club who race once a fortnight and no serious competition for him to hone the craft against he does extremely well on his visits to the mainland.

He does always do well, but being the 'lone soldier' for a car might make it more difficult to get the good results. Maybe he'll do even better.
I guess we'll see in the coming season.

No serious competition? I think your forgetting that Mark Gililand , Keith Dempsey, Peter Phillips and Graham Kenny all race at the same club as Alan. All these guys have competed in BRCA and European TC races as well as this years EWS. I totally agree with all your other points, he's a top lad both on and away from the track. Always willing to lend a hand and freely give advice when asked.

Totally agree with your point David and wasn't trying to disrespect the lads you mentioned. 'Serious' competition was the wrong choice of words from myself.

The point I was trying to make was he dosnt have the same level of competition in NI that the UK lads are racing against every weekend. If your racing against multiple national champions/world champions every week its only going to raise your game to another level.
