OK, so here is My chart, so far:
Take-Off
CS22 - 32 - 86f= 0 - 30c
CS27 - 50 - 122f=10 - 50c
CS32 - 68 - 140f=20 - 60c
CS37 -104 - 158f=40 - 70c
RP24 -
RP30 -

SOREX
20R -
24R - 59 - 68f=15 - 20c
28R - 68 - 82f=20 - 28c
32R - 81 - 97f=27 - 36c
36R - 97 - 151f=36 - 66c
40R -120 - 171f=49 - 77c

Powers
PJ22 - 32 - 77f= 0 - 25c
PJ27 - 50 - 113f=10 - 45c
PJ30 - 68 - 140f=20 - 60c
PJ35 -104 - 158f=40 - 70c

CS22, 24r, RP24 are the same
CS27, 28r, RP30 are the same
CS32, 36r, RP32 (or is it 36?) are the same
then, i don't know what sorex 20r's are the same as?

My temps are Fahrenheit, 1st cuz I are in the USA.

If you can keep working it, Ill turn the data into a nice graphic sheet so we can just click and print these out.

it all depends on how much they are over heated it can go from traction fading before race is over or total loss of traction .all depends the temp range of the tires you are using and track temp. it's easy to over look if you are in a rush

Is it more prominent for the front to lose traction first or the rear?

Still need spec temps for the Take-Off RP series tires. I cain't beleive that there are sponsored races with these tires but there ain't no website for them.


Does anybody have a defenitive answer to Take-Off tires Website?

The RP's are really new and Take Off just changed Export Agent (Powers to ARK) so the new website is still in development.

Don't get trapped by thinking about tire temp ranges. At best they are a rough guide and most of the time the listed temp ranges are useless.

The main thing to look at when choosing tires is traction. Them more traction the track has the less traction you need from yout tires. Sorex 36R's are suppoed to be a hot track tire but they are the tire to run at SoCal. Why? SoCal is an indoor A/C alpahlt track. The answer is SoCal has tons of traction. The Take Off CS32 (listed as a hot track tire) is the best tire at HobbyTown's indoor asphalt track in Frederick, MD.

The CS27 is listed as a moderate temp tire but on hot tracks, 140-160 deg surface, the CS27 is faster than the CS32.

Here is how the CS tire compare to the
RP.

CS22 to RP24:

The RP24 is softer than the CS22. The 22 is more useful in warmer weather. These are night tires for asphalt racing or for low traction carpet tracks. The RP24 is best if traction is low. As the grip get higher the 22 is better.

CS27 to RP30:

These tires are similar in use but the 30 is 1-2/10ths per lap faster in cooler weather. As the track heats up a car running the 30 will start push and the 27 equiped car will still be good. The 30 is good for 3 hard mod runs or 6 stock/19t runs. The CS27 is good for a little more than double that.

CS27 to RP36:

If it is too warm to run RP30's the RP36 will be faster than the CS27. The 36 is a special tire. For some unknown reason it has the most steering of any Take Off tire. The 36 is good for 4 hard mod runs or 8 stock/19t runs. The CS27 is good for double that.

CS32:

This is a special tire. The CS27 is better than the CS32 almost everywhere unless the traction is so high that you are almost traction rolling with the 27's. In this case the 32 will free up your car and let you get around faster. This is a common situation on indoor asphalt tracks. The 32's last a really long time on a high bite surface.

CS37:

We have never found a situation where this tire was the way to go. I have heard of one track with so much grip that guys us 37's but I can recal where it is.

RP40:

This is an excellent hot tire. If you are roasting CS27's and RP36's run 40's. IF you car is too locked in with 36's try 40's

Since everyone is talking about tires, could i budge in and add in another question?

1. In rubber tires set up, inserts are also a major thing that most people often neglect. Could someone with more knowledge and information would share with us the valuable input please.

-Hard and Soft inserts. Wats the difference?
-Thin and Thick inserts. Wats the difference?
-More and less air gap. Wats the difference?

I basically know whats the difference. But i would prefer someone who could bloody explain everything in details pls.
Its for everyone in here to know too.

Low traction and cool weather calls for softer inserts with more air gap. Higher traction and heat calls for harder inserts with less airgap. Of course you can go too far with with insert durometer and air gap in both directions.

Inserts are really a nightmare. There are literally dozens of choices. Thickness, diameter, material and shape are all variables. There is certainly an optimum insert, rim (Soft, hard, 24mm, 26mm, standard, inch up, tall rib, low rib, nylon, abs, etc.) tire combo for any given track and track condition. Unfortunbatly you could certainly go bankrupt trying to test all the combinations.

This is why the TakeOff CS27GL (Pre-mounted) has pretty much taken over US racing. It is fast, easy to use and costs less than what you would pay to glue up a set of competing tires. It used to be that other tires would be faster than the CS tires but with the introduction of the RP series (also available pre-mounted) Take Off has a perfect tire for every track.

If you feel you have to glue up your own tires just run what the fast locals run.
