Default Advice on spares to have in stock for xray T4 '14

Hi all,

I am looking for some advice on what spare parts I should have in stock for racing mod with my new T4. Ideally you would have every part in stock of course because happens but what would the bare minimum be? C hubs, belts, steering blocks etc etc. Maybe some pins that get lost?. What would you recommend? Also, if anyone has any must hop ups they can recommend. thanks for the help!

address the front bumper issue, or you will be replacing the chassis because of hard hits.

Get one from Diggity if you can't find the XRay part in stock.

Or just make one yourself out of an offcut of CF or Aluminium, like I did

The Xray's are pretty tuff. I had almost one of everything with my old T3. Used nothing! (unless you plan on crashing alot) I'm not buying hardly anything for my T4'14.

One of each c hub, steering block, rear hub, blades, front composite outdrives(if you run them), complete ecs(as a spare, parts, etc) front and rear belt, inner hinge pins just in case. Only parts I ever really broke were ecs shafts and I wore out blades. The xray is a very durable car requiring very few spares.

i have ran mine for 10 meetings now and haven't had to replace anything other than the ecs shafts which i have now removed and im now using the standard shafts
,but im lucky to have a shop at the track every race meeting so i dont carry any spares,i still have my t4 spares so some of those could come in handy,if you have to mail order your spares ,i would have both belts and then one of each part that could get broken in a heavy crash, sometimes on the t4 the top deck can split just behind the motor, but haven't had a problem with the 14

Don't forget a package of the C-Hub bushings. If you break a steering block the screw and bushing fall out of the bottom, and you might not find it on the track. Be aware the top bushing is a different length then the bottom.

Some people might disagree with me, but I bought aluminum steering blocks for my son's car, as he was breaking 2-3 steering blocks every weekend. The bottom of the block is a weak point. CSO has inexpensive aluminum steering blocks for the Xray cars. Bought those, and have never looked back.

Other then that.. The Xray line of cars are solid. I have TONS of spares that I have never had to use. I am now thinking of buying a new Xray as my T2"s are 8 years old, and just plain wearing out.

Cheers,

Shawn.

X-Ray spares are really expensive. I have not carried any suspension spares since racing my T4 in February of 2013. Still on original suspension parts. Really tough car.

I have bought diff gaskets for routine maintenance and wore out a set of stock spool cups, but thats about it.

thanks for all the posts guys, I will get the basic spares mentioned and go through the quoted post above for options that are good to have. That was actually something I was thinking about last night, which bits are good to have in the bag for tuning on asphalt. There are a few guys with xrays at the track and I will ask them what tuning parts they are finding handy. Thanks.

I've been running Xray for 2 years. Bought a bunch of the various spares thinking it'll be nice to have them if I needed them. Still have every one of those spares new in the package.

You need to consider the tracks you'll be running at. Do they have 2x4 barriers? Are the lanes narrow? I wouldn't get carried away with the spares...
