You will have fun and will leave the event a better driver plus more setup knowledge.

Hello Racers.

We are having slight delay in tire production, we will contact individuals, dealers with shipping upgrade options.
Please check your email today to reply us.

We will ensure everyone participating Pre-RROC 2014 have tires they need for the race.

Agreed... I have attended the last 4 RROC events at NorCal and each year I am better prepared and end up further up in the field. This year is hopefully the most prepared I've been.

So you're saying I need to buy a new transponder? I've got hundreds of $$ tied up in AMB and MRT transponders already. This is adding up to probably be the most expensive race I've ever attended.

It better be awesome...
I'm saying you shouldn't have invested in cloned transponders. If you have a AMB transponder, even the older one's they all work with RC4. It's a shame that MRT peddles cloned hardware to unsuspecting consumers.

Everyone should also be aware that AMB's RC 4 firmware can be updated, which at some point in time will circumvent newer MRT clones that may work.

This is kind of the reason I sold all 4 MRT transponders I had. Didn't want to show up to race while in limbo.

So where was this little nugget of wisdom back when I ordered my MRT transponders? AMB was falling short of fulfilling the demand and the price kept climbing for no apparent reason. AMB created the opportunity for their competition and claiming that MRT is somehow inferior and should be phased out appears to be perpetuating AMB's desire to monopolize the market. How Apple of them.

I have had AMB transponders ever since they started producing the PTS units. When I was in the market for more, they were twice the price and sold out everywhere therefore the MRT units were the hot ticket at the time.
Besides, the only thing "cloned" are the ID codes of originally purchased units so where is the injustice? Oh yeah... a breakdown of the monopoly chain.

Lets stick to the race discussion and take the transponder discussion back to that thread which is now buried in the archives. Thanks!

It's Fresno, something in the water makes the people who love there petty and bitter. It's the same thing that drives then to tolerate multiple missed laps per race via iLaps so they can save $40 on a transponder. Maybe he can car camp at the Walmart in Foothill Ranch with JB to take the financial burden away.

Just kidding, but not about Fresno. It really is the only place in the civilized world that didn't adopt amb because people in Fresno are ridiculously cheap.

And to make up for busting on Rick, he can borrow a transponder from me if he needs it. LMK, I'll bring it to Hobbytown.

On edit - welcome to 2012!

Ouch man!
I'm definitely not cheap nor do I live in Fresno... anymore.
I'm in Santa Barbara now, baby! I got a suite in Laguna Hills so I won't need to camp at Walmart either. LOL I wasn't thrilled about the iLaps stuff when I started racing there as they are the only one I know of who uses that system.
Don't worry about the loaner, I have AMB stuff too. I just bought the MRT stuff 3-4 years ago because everybody I knew was switching to them since the AMB's were hard to get. I'm soooo looking forward to this race. Hopefully my tires arrive in time to test in Camarillo this weekend.

Glad to see you're coming to RROC this year!
Gonna join me in the G main???

Awesome. Cheaper at TQ than at Sweep's own site. Good times.
