Not sure if this as been asked. Is the Tamiya track using the RC3 or RC4 decoder? Need to know what transponders will work?

I'm 99% sure it is RC4.

If it is the Tamiya system then it is RC4. This past weekend my MPT was not counting.

If they use Scotty's boxes then they too are RC4's. Those are the same ones used at the iic.

We use RC4 as does Scotty. Either way...MRT's will not work at the Reedy Race.

Kind of an important detail to leave out of the sign ups don't you think?
So you're saying I need to buy a new transponder? I've got hundreds of $$ tied up in AMB and MRT transponders already. This is adding up to probably be the most expensive race I've ever attended.

It better be awesome...

Your old AMB's will work just fine. Your old MRT's will not work unless they are the MRT Transponder PTX-20 (NS), whereas NS stands for New System and works with RC4 decoder.

All AMB transponders work with the new RC4 system, just not the original MRT.

I'm using a 7 year old AMB transponder with the RC4 system and it works great.

My old AMB worked on both the systems too.

MRT now do clones that are compatible with the newer systems as well as backwards compatible with the old.
