1/8th cant be compared with 1/10th and you cant compare lola high down force bodies to sedans.

Local track with low grip asphalt nitros run 116km/hr where as eletrics are a touch under 100km/hr.

Nitro will run a high 16 second lap, electric low 17 second lap the extra low down power of the eletric cant be used.

Go to another local track that is very tight with higher grip and electrics are a second per lap faster.

Wow, electrics mod speed is only 100km/h.... Hara had the record in hemsteede with 115km/h two years ago or so..... I think the mod guys choose slower motors for smoothness rather than faster motors that might be harder to drive....
I do well over 100km/h with my tc4 gtb 3.5t, no boost.... If I add boost, it's over !!!!!

bert i highly doubt you are doing "well over 100kmh" cotswolds has one of the longest straights in RC tracks and elliot harper managed just over 70mph clocked on a speed gun.

Elliot Harper probably ran a 4.5t in his ”ghost” Durango prototype....lol..... There are many YouTube videos where guys use 3.5t motors boosted + 2S to reach 85mph to 110mph.... Eventhough these guys were doing speed runs, I think 75mph with a 3.5t boosted is a piece of cake......
My tc4 3.5t is already faster than that Awesomatix in the video... Imagine if I add boost...
My tc4 is also geared at 8.409FDR, and can be geared even higher, since it does not even warmup good after six minutes running....

Yawn, top speed run on an infinite strait is irrelevant to the speed either nitro or electric can achieve on a specific track.

110mph you sure about that.

We were stuffing around with top speed when the 100mph traxxas came out and with the largest gearing I could fit into one of my old cars with a calculated max speed of about 140km/hr (2S LRP TC and 3.5T). Ended up having tyre failures (rubbers with inserts) before reaching top speed.

Ended up using with foams which held up ok but was still a step behind the Traxxas, 3S in the 1/10th would have been a different story.

I am not questioning the integrity of the person who made the video but there isn’t a lot of supporting evidence for the speed nor details of the modifications made. How long did the car take to get to 100mph plus? How many times would this car be lapped in a 6 minute race on a typical track running rubbers, would it even finish or melt the motor?

Your post implies you only have to bolt in a 3.5T motor and gear up your touring car and you will run 80-110mph which is complete crap. At less than 80mhp quality rubber tyres with moldered inserts failed. As per my post foam tyres held up fine but drag and stability became an issue (not much use for going around corners).

AND once again infinite strait top speed is irrelevant to a track environment where top speed will be dictated by the layout.
