Default difference between motor sprays?

hey everyone,

just a quick question

is there any difference between the brands of motor spray???

eg: Trinity buggy blast, Orion motor spray, Duratrax power shot, also been told CRC make a spray similar but im not sure of the name (its not an rc company)>

is there any that SHOULD be avoided???

i just bought a can of the duratrax power shot stuff today cuz i need it for the weekend and thats all i could get at the time... anyone used it before???

i usually use trinity buggy blast but i was just wondering if theres any difference

thanx in advance

robbie

I doubt that there is any different TBH, i have used fast-trax and custom color, the custom color wouldnt remove servo tape, whereas the fast-trax stuff would.
However a 3 thing of brake and clutch cleaner works exactly the same and lasts twice as long for half the price, so im buying that instead from now on.

Just get brake cleaner without Acetone. They'll say on the can that its free of acetone. Acetone eats plastic for dinner and paint for dessert.

Default spray

Ive been using brake cleaner for years, very good stuff and cheap. Bought some today. i use it to clean my bearings/motors/etc. Never had anything bad happen to my equipment from brake cleaner.

i have actually found some differences.

team orion removes servo tape, doesn't remove paint, gets rid of scuffs on shells but yet the fastrax stuff does remove paint but doesn't get rid of scuffs....also team orion stuff seems to have more power in its spray.

saying that, i just got a can of break cleaner, break cleaner is much more 'aggresive' than motor spray...as it isn't as 'watered down'

BUT, if you get some break cleaner, make sure it is chlorine free (main chlorinated hydrocarbon found in these is trichloroethane)
