Anyone know if the older rotors will fit in the new v2 plutonium motors?

Ive owned Tekin gen 2, reedy sonic gens 1 and 2, speed passion "the $30 ones", orca tx. honestly, if you keep off the walls, they were all comparable with setups that suited their power bands.

I was gonna go all tekin for indoor as i have a 17.5 high rpm and HT, also a 4.5 but switched to orca primarily due to the fact that an orca usa rep attends our races. The tekin motors were very nice. their escs, dispite lots of people shyting on them, were very fast. won my first stock division at a major event with a gen 2 RS.

It really came down to support as i dont get a lot of track time and i like keith =)

I do still run reedy motors in my stock pancars though. biggest surprise was my speed passion v3. $31.. first setup i ever threw on it and i could keep pace with the fast guys.

Get a d3.5 maxzilla out of the case or an orca from ea.

+1

I run Tekin gen 2 motors and have no issues keeping up with the people who play the motor of the week game.

I've just started 17.5 tc blinky, and everyone at the track has been running a trinity d3.5. However, the guys at the track said I should wait for the replacement to the d3.5 since it is now banned. From looking online, it thought the replacement was going to come out in April. If there is not a replacement for the d3.5 in the near future, what motor should I go with?

Lots of choices now. Team Scream, r1Wurks, Team Powers Actinium

I'd go for any one of those 3 motors.

Don't forget Fantom Racing motors. Best motor I have ever used. They build your motor to your specs. Very good customer service and you can work with Jeff the owner. Just tell him what car or truck you race and it will be built accordingly. John Wiita just won the 17.5 1/12 National Championship at the 2014 ROAR ON-ROAD CARPET NATIONALS with one of his motors They even have a picture on his site of 5000.00 worth of rotors they won't sell because they don't meet there high standards. They test all there products. And buy the way I also use there Batteries which are very good

blast from the past bump

was trying to research if team scream or team powers had the upper hand generally in having the fastest motors.

We tested all the major brands on an eagle MD2 DYNO and in racing. There is no real world advantage on the track.

I've found that TP Actinium has one of the broadest flexibility of gearing when fitted with the Advanced timing endbell and timing board. The R1 Wurks lab is virtually the same motor. The r1 Ultra Premium has some minor differences including a different rotor. Again, I get equal track performance from my Actinium which has slightly better braking. I run the new TP Radon too. I have not seen a TSR motor yet. Get the Actinium and spend the savings on some new tyres. Then just concentrate on setup and consistency.

I had a Team Powers in 17.5 Buggy and it was a missile. (Think it was a Plutonium V2) sadly it didn't correlate to the 21.5 which was a bit of a slug in Blinky TC
