ESC/BEC Wont turn off
 

For some reason the ESC in a electric 1/5 car I'm building doesn't turn off, it works fine with the exception the switch does nothing, in-fact I cut it off and installed new one and still nothing.

***I tested with a meter and there is an open continuity between the black and red with no resistance at all times***

I'm thinking my problem is somehow with the BEC, since the futuba receiver Im using also has a BEC built-in perhaps theres some wierd conflict.

Im actually tempted to cut the red and separate the BEC from the ESC but im still not clear what switch was doing? plus the car runs very well since its upgrades i dont want to burn anything out


What exactly does the BEC/ESC switch do? should I be turning off the ESC with a switch coming off the power input or should that switch built-into the ESC be turning it off?
