I was paying attention, I was just clearing a common misconception that the Maxamps.com packs are really 1.18v. Their batteries are good and every 3300 is good.

Not every company has to win at a national level immediately. I am sure Smc and promatch didn't start off their buisness winning the Reedy race.

I agree with rcguy2477, www.axxis-racing.com is the only way to go!

Two quotes from "rcguy2477"

I was paying attention, I was just clearing a common misconception that the Maxamps.com packs are really 1.18v. Their batteries are good and every 3300 is good.

They may guarentee 1.18 voltage, but that is at a 20 amp discharge as suggested by their listed runtime. Most matched batteries will run 1.2+v at a 20 amp discharge.
WRONG INFORMATION! It is a 30 amp discharge..

RCGuy2477,

Have you ever held a pack of MaxAmps Batteries in your hand, ran them in your car, or tested them? Would you mind Pm'ing me, so I can send you my e-mail address and you can send me the results of your test. My test results are posted in one of the other Battery Threads in this Forum...

What would you say if I told you MaxAmps has batteries that have the same performance of 3300's or better but have a run-time of 15 minutes or more.... on a 30 amp discharge...

My .02 cents...

If u are on a tight budget, i wouldnt worry too much on matched batteries.
Im saying this for 3 reasons:
a) Matched batteries are only better than unmatched when u compare the higher spec ones (team cels). The cheaper ones (club, sport and so forth) are actually a selection of the worst cells. An unmatched pack will have good and bad cells, but the average is still decent.

b) If you are running stock u are probably thinking in GP3300. According to latest RC Car Action testing this cells are not particular good.
GP3300: avg 1.146v
GP3700: avg 1.156v
IB3600: avg 1.138v
IB3800: avg 1.158v
I can buy unmacthed 3700 cheapper than the best 3300. And they will perform at least as good because the cells are better. Besides the higher capacity means that even though u run stock, you will finish youre races at the begining of the discharge curve.

c) People will say "unmatched batteries are only as good as worst cells". True. But matched packs are only matched for the first runs. After a couple of months some cells will degrade faster than others. Then you have a "unmatched pack".

Ahh, and what does that prove? It proves which companies have money enough to buy the best drivers.

And which companies that dont mind saying to their drivers, that they shall charge to above 70 degree celsius. Of course these cells dont last long. But it's lowering the IR, so who cares about damaging cells, if they win? Cheap mareketing... In more than one way.
