That’s not much .. what are the going to do with the plastics.. lol..

i See.. they have their own Mini 4wd car.

Carnage9270 07-23-2018 09:47 AM

Yeah it uses all top plastics. They use the same factory and took over the production. But yes, everything else Top is gone forever. Just wasn't profitable I guess.

but the aluminium bits are not from top? Or a copy?

Carnage9270 07-23-2018 11:02 AM

No, all their mini kits use either their own full size car parts or in the case of the conversion kits...other cars full size parts. No use of anything Top except the suspension pieces (plastics, CVD's etc). I think they are actually making their own CVD's now as well.

..just found this older thread doing a search for something else. LOL, I still have my TOP "Mini" ...still runs and works great. I use it for occasional practice/fun at the track. Have a Tamiya CRX body on it right now.

Mine has an Alpine A110 body on it. Shame they don’t exist anymore.

Good news is that the consumable parts are available from RaceOpt..

sakadachi 07-22-2020 09:22 AM

You guys know which bodies are on my Sabre Mini's. :D

I still haven't assembled that other one I bought last year.. I can't even remember the name. Xpress or something the Competition trim with the carbon fiber decks..

eR1c 07-22-2020 09:59 AM

Sakadachi! How are you!! -dang haven't seen you on these boards for a long time. Happy to hear your still RC'ing. ;)

Hi eR1c! Yeah, I've taken another hiatus from RC'ing due to buying a new-to-me house last year. Been a busy year moving in, modifying the house, and hope to finish the RC track later this winter.

Was hoping to build a new house from scratch, but got hit with zoning restrictions and could not quite make the house the way we wanted on paper so found a freshly renovated house with a big garage.

The Xpress Mini cars are popular at tracks on east coast. He in LV we can’t even get Mini going again let alone an AWD Mini.

I tried to get people at club interested in Mini and my rival pushed GT12 Pan cars that run similar bodies. He had had success recently.. me not so much as even with this darn pandemic, work hinders me from being at the track on Saturdays
