  1. Caster = 12°
  2. Camber = 2.5°
  3. Tires = Pit Shimizu - TCS spec tires
  4. Side Shock Oil = 350 cst.
  5. Mono Shock Oil = 400 cst.
  6. Mono Shock Spring = Kit spring C2.2
  7. Width of car (measured between outside walls of tires) = 190mm
  8. Ride Height = 4mm
  9. Front Wing = Tamiya F104 wing, part no. 51383

I tried this setup on my X1 but found out it had way too much steering for my liking.

I haven't seen or had an axle bearing failure from a hit since the F104 came out, and I have owned almost every brand/version F1

could be the xray bearings, installing AVIDS now, then again the sidewall is SMALL, be easy to make it alittle bigger, the bearings already exist, just a new little plastic part

Don't get me wrong the car is GOOD!

I replaced broken bearing with another xray bearing from the spares I ordered. Same spur gear side blew out. Haven't used any other brand yet. I will next time though.

Well I had issues with smaller XRAY layshaft bearings back in the FK04 and FK05 days so bearing issues come up from time to time. I am gonna order some extra Avids. As far as ride height pills go,yeah that may be a solution but it would be interesting to see if anyone in Europe where they run races like the f1 masters or ETS series on bigger tracks to see if they have issues with failure/longevity of these bearings.

Looks like I'm going to try lighter oil in the mono shock. Switched to the Tamiya Side Damper and it was unreal how much better it was.

How on earth did he get any steering with that much caster?

Is there any video of the F1 finals?

Yep, it certainly does look good there, only problem is I never see grip that high on carpet here

Yeah, grip was pretty high at the race last weekend. We had traction roll issues early on and found going lighter in the side shock or tube helped tremendously. I usually run no shims for camber gain at home and at the club race Thursday night, but the weekend traction was way too much. Also, tire prep and timing of traction compound are a major tuning aid to driving style. As for Drews setup, not many can drive it, lol.

Which shims are you reffering to regarding camber gain?

The Tamiya bodies don't fit properly as they tend to narrow near the back, where the side links are on the car.

What Jack said. It is the three in the middle front suspension mount. Not the shims under the arms.

I agree. Drew is a 'freak of nature' who can drive the most unstable car setups.
